WHO IS THE PROFESSIONAL PADDLESPORTS ASSOCIATION?

The Professional Paddlesports Association is the premier trade association fostering paddlesports business. Through cooperation our industry will increase the number of people who participate in paddlesports and how often they go paddling. By providing information on safety, paddling locations, and paddling basics we will enhance participants’ paddling experiences. Through professional development programs we will build leadership in our industry and strengthen the knowledge and skills needed to expand our businesses. We will come together as one – putting the industry first as we grow paddlesports.

In 1977 several like-minded paddlesports businesspeople founded the National Association of Canoe Liveries and Outfitters Inc. (NACLO). In November 1995 members changed the organization's name to the Professional Paddlesports Association to better represent the comprehensive paddlesports industry.

The Professional Paddlesports Association is fortunate to be affiliated with several influential members of the paddlesports community. Groups such as the American Canoe Association (ACA), National Marine Manufacturers Association, the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, and others that share Professional Paddlesports Association's vision of enjoyable, accessible outdoor recreation.
